A $ 2.7-million project is getting underway on the Broken Arrow Expressway. The Highway 51 overpass decking at Pittsburg Avenue will be replaced.

The Oklahoma Department of Transportation says the construction work will take up to eight month. O-DOT plans to close one lane each direction while the work is being done. That will cause a bottleneck into and out of the downtown area on the expressway.

Plywood is used now as part of the bridge decking where holes have opened in the past.
