Oklahoma City, OK – OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) September was warmer than average across Oklahoma.
The Oklahoma Climatological Survey reported that the statewide average temperature last month was 74.5 degrees, 2.1 degrees above normal.
The survey also reported that the statewide average rainfall of 3.99 inches is 0.18 inches below average and the 36th wettest on record, even though much of the state was dry.
The survey also reported that remnants of Tropical Storm Hermine boosted rainfall totals in southern and east-central Oklahoma, with Sallisaw receiving more than 10 inches of precipitation from the storm. Western and central Oklahoma saw less rain, with 25 Mesonet stations recording less than 2 inches of rain last month.
Through September, the statewide average temperature was 63.3 degrees, 0.3 degrees above normal, and rainfall was 27.51 inches, nearly an inch below average.
