Tulsans Discuss Immigration Reform

Immigration reform is THE hot button issue in Washington and across the nation. A forum in Tulsa today, sponsored by the Regional Chamber of Commerce, focused on federal immigration proposals and the potential impact. Panelist Michael Brooks Jimenez, an immigration law attorney, agrees the system is broken…but believes any reform must be comprehensive, not piecemeal…as some U-S House members prefer.

The Senate has passed a bill that provides a pathway to citizenship, but includes a long wait and the payment of fines. Republican leadership calls the Senate version dead on arrival, if and when the House takes up the Senate measure.
