Tulsa Teachers Get Raise

KWGS News/TPS 20

Tulsa teachers get a pay raise. The school board and the teachers' union have come to terms on what will amount to about a $650 a year increase. While appreciative, the Classroom Teachers Association’s Linda Hendrix says they are still missing a raise that was due in 2010.

The 2010/2011 increase did not happen because of the state budget cuts that hit public education.

Hendrix told board members the teacher’s union would do whatever it could to help draw attention to what she called the state’s “ridiculous funding crisis.”
