Tulsa, OK – Oil tank fire under control at Tulsa refinery
TULSA, Okla. (AP) Authorities say an oil tank fire at a Tulsa refinery is now under control.
A fire broke out in an oil tank about 9:30 p.m. Friday and that no one was injured in the blaze. The extent of the damage wasn't immediately known.
Tulsa Fire Department spokesman Tim Smallwood said the fire was under control and that firefighters were returning to other duties by late Friday night.
The refinery's owner, the Dallas-based Holly Corp., says lightning may have started the fire, but the official cause is still undetermined. The company says the fire was isolated to one tank and that no other operations were affected.
Holly's two Tulsa refineries can process up to 125,000 barrels per day of diesel, jet fuel and other petroleum products.
