Tulsa Participating in Charitable Giving Campaign

United Way

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — Tulsa's city manager plans to rappel from a tall building to support a charitable giving campaign the city is supporting throughout the month of October.

City Manager Jim Twombly will rappel from the 20-story One Warren Place on Friday afternoon. Various city departments are also hosting other events this month such as chili cook-offs, golf putting, bake sales and raffles for the charitable giving campaign.

The city hopes to raise $190,000 during the month. Through the campaign, the city participates in the United Way campaign and all proceeds are dispersed to local charity organizations.

The city has participated in the campaign for many years. Mayor Dewey Bartlett says he's proud of city of Tulsa employees for the time and effort they take to positively impact fellow Tulsans and the community.
