TULSA, Okla. (AP) — A police report says a Tulsa man arrested in the death of a 20-year-old woman told authorities he was acting in self-defense when he struck her with a machete.
Joshua Andrew Reynolds was arrested on a first-degree murder complaint in Thursday's death of Melissa Lemery. Police found Lemery's body in the backyard of a Tulsa home.
The Tulsa World reports Reynolds told police he met Lemery at a strip club and brought her home. An arrest report says Reynolds told authorities that Lemery tried to steal from him and that she was cut as they struggled over a machete.
The report says Reynolds told police he then dropped a cinder block on Lemery's head "to put her out of her misery."
Jail records don't list an attorney for Reynolds
