TU Gets Grant for Solar Energy Project

KWGS News

TULSA, Okla. (AP) — The University of Tulsa will receive one of 12 grants as part of a project to develop solar energy technology that provides cost-effective power when the sun isn't shining.

U.S. Secretary of Energy Ernest Moniz announced the grants at the University of Texas in Austin and said TU will receive $1.7 million.

Moniz announced that a total of $30 million will go to the 12 projects that are intended to develop new hybrid solar energy converters and hybrid energy storage systems that can deliver low-cost, high-efficiency solar energy on demand.
