Trooper: 3 Dead After Car Hits Group of Motorcyclists

KWGS News File Photo

TRYON, Okla. (AP) — Authorities in central Oklahoma say three motorcyclists have been killed after a head-on collision with a car.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says a car traveling on U.S. 177 Sunday night in Lincoln County crossed over the center line and struck a 49-year-old motorcyclist. Troopers say a 20-year-old motorcyclist struck the first bike and a 36-year-old motorcyclist slid off the road to avoid the crashes.

The three men died at the scene. No other injuries were reported.

Troopers didn't identify the car driver or passenger because of their age.

The cause of the collision is unclear. Troopers are investigating.
