Terlton, OK – Name of Pawnee County fire victim is released

TERLTON, Okla. (AP) Authorities have released the name of a man who died after suffering a head injury has he tried to flee a wildfire near Terlton in Pawnee County.

Sixty-two-year-old Stanley Hale died Aug. 16 after falling and hitting his head while trying to get away from the fire that destroyed about 45 homes.

Hale is the second victim of the fire.

The body of 81-year-old Hollis Edgar was found in his burned home Aug. 11. Officials have said Edgar refused to leave his home despite the approaching fire.
