Snapshot Series - Edition One this week on Performance Oklahoma

Continuing its mission to offer a high quality music and cultural Festival for Oklahoma audiences, OK Mozart marked its 31st season this past June, taking a musical trip to Italy, the place where 17 year old Wolfgang received the Papal Order of the Knight of the Golden Spur for his extraordinary musical gifts. Presented June 6th through the 13th, Festival 2015 offered a series of orchestral concerts, chamber music performances and a semi-staged production of Mozart’s opera Don Giovanni, as well as a full program of related cultural activities in its showcase events. Recorded concerts are held at the Bartlesville Community Center and St. Luke's Episcopal Church and this summer, OK Mozart opened a new small concert venue, Aurora Hall as well as renovated its downtown Bartlesville headquarters.

In this first program of a four part snapshot series we’ll hear the Amici NY orchestra, conductor Constantine Kitsopoulos and violinist Chad Hoopes in the Overture to Mozart's "Cosi fan tutte" and Vivaldi's "Four Seasons" and we’ll enjoy performances of the String Quartet No. 1 of Conlon Nancarrow, the Piano Quintet of Cesar Franck and "Appalachian Polaroids" by Steven Snowden offered by the Aeolus Quartet and pianist Jon Kimura Parker.

Performance Oklahoma airs Saturday evening at 8pm on Classical 88.7.
