Shutdown Scam Operating in Tulsa

With the federal government shutdown,  scam artists are quickly circling Tulsa's elderly.  Spirit Bank CEO Kel Kelly says crooks are placing phone calls to the elderly seeking their bank account information.

KEL KELLY: "They are saying that the shut down will affect their Social Security payment and that they need to give the shyster their information. "

He says banks already know your account information and so does Social Security.

KEL KELLY: "We actually had one in our lobby trying to give the shyster their account information. We were able to intercept and stop it."

Kelly says there is no reason to give anyone that information over the phone.
