Shake, Rattle and Roll: More Oklahoma Earthquakes

File photo

CRESCENT, Okla. (AP) — Several earthquakes have been reported in north-central Oklahoma, including a magnitude 4.2 temblor north of Crescent.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the 4.2 magnitude quake was recorded at 7:42 a.m. Saturday in a lightly populated area 12 miles north of Crescent — about 45 miles northeast of Oklahoma City.

There are no reports of damage or injury.

The quake is one of eight recorded Friday and Saturday morning in the region near Langston, Medford, Perry and Pawnee with the other quakes ranging in magnitude from 2.2 to 3.0.

Geologists say quakes of magnitude 2.5 to 3.0 are general the smallest that are felt by humans and that damage is not likely with quakes below magnitude 4.0.
