Second Man Identified in Pawnee County Deaths

KWGS Map

MANNFORD, Okla. (AP) — The Oklahoma State Bureau of Investigation says the second of two men found dead in a mobile home in Mannford nearly a month ago has been identified.

The OSBI said Thursday that the state medical examiner's office has identified the man as 53-year-old Don Ray Stanford.

The bodies of Stanford and 60-year-old Ward Ray Bartlett were found June 18 in Bartlett's mobile home by Pawnee County deputies conducting a welfare check at the request of a state health care worker. Authorities say Stanford was also living at the home.

The OSBI says it appears both men were shot to death, although the medical examiner's office has not issued an official cause of the deaths.
