Quapaw Tribe to Host Rape Survivors at Event

QUAPAW, Okla. (AP) — A quilt that is larger than two basketball courts will be on display in Quapaw next month to bring awareness about sexual violence.

The quilt is part of an initiative from a group known as Force, which uses art actions to create dialogue about rape and promoting consent.

The Monument Quilt is traveling across the U.S. this summer to bring awareness about the issues of rape and abuse. The quilt will be on display at the Quapaw Tribe's Domestic Violence Program on Aug. 13.

Survivors will also share their stories during the event.
