The price of oil continues to drop, but gasoline prices in Tulsa are sky rocketing!
What gives?
Will Speers with Gasbuddy.com says Tulsa prices are being impacted by a refinery malfunction in the upper mid-west. He says a BP refinery in Indiana, east of Chicago, has shut down after a malfunction. That has caused a gasoline shortage on the short-term market.
Speers says it could take up to a month to make the needed repairs. He says our gas prices could go even higher.
The price of regular unleaded in Tulsa increaased 15-cents per gallon at sunrise this morning.
