Citizens of Tulsa start pitching ideas tonight to be funded by a possible Vision sales tax renewal.

It’s a big deal, so City Councilor Blake Ewing appeared in a goofy video at The Frontier to drum up interest.

"The question before us: What will Tulsans do today to build for the future?" Ewing said while in character as Dr. Phillip Vector. "How will they compete with aggressive regional competitors who are also making tremendous investments in their communities?"

There are four public meetings, and all of them are in the city hall council chambers: tonight at 6 p.m., July 16 and 21 at noon, and July 28 at 6 p.m.

With the countywide Vision sales tax expiring at the end of next year, it’s up to cities to carry out their own renewals.
