PRT Listeners Tackle Sentencing Reform

It was cold and rainy outside, but inside the Tyrrell Hall Auditorium on the TU campus last Thursday evening, it was warm, dry, and filled with great conversation!  Thanks to everyone who joined us for The Give & Take on Sentencing Reform, especially our panelists: Tammy WestcottIncarceration Reduction divisiondirector and Tulsa County COURTS program manager, Community Service Council and Ryan Gentzler, Policy Analyst, Oklahoma Policy Institute.

The crowd of 70 who braved the February weather heard from Tammy and Ryan about the challenges – and opportunities – facing sentencing reform, from the state legislature to District Attorneys’ offices to police departments.   The audience then joined the conversation with their own questions.

Weren’t able to join us?  You can listen to a recording of this Give & Take on Sentencing Reform here.

What is The Give & Take?  It’s a Public Radio Tulsa event series that is an opportunity to build community among public radio listeners and encourage civil discourse on the important issues facing our city, state, and nation, all in a relaxed setting.?  (We also have door prizes!)
