Prison Officials Stop Contraband Drop

DOC

The Oklahoma Department of Corrections says officers have captured two inmates who left the minimum-security prison and attempted to pick up three duffel bags of contraband.

The corrections department says the two inmates were discovered missing from the Jim E. Hamilton Correctional Center in eastern Oklahoma. Officials say the inmates were later found early Monday hiding under a trailer on prison property.

Tracking dogs led correctional officers to the inmates and to three duffel bags that were left in a nearby creek bed. Among the items contained in the bags were: 30 pounds of pipe tobacco, a half-pound of marijuana, 15 cell phones, 50 lighters, two bottles of cognac, two boxes of mouse traps, 10 rolls of electrical tape and two sports bras.
