Oklahoma City, OK – Thousands still without power

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Nearly 10,000 Oklahoma Gas & Electric Co. customers remain without power after strong thunderstorms hit central Oklahoma.

OG&E's reports on its Web sit that 9.793 customers were still in the dark Friday morning after the Thursday afternoon storm. More than 29,500 customers were without power at the height of the storm.

Outages are also reported in Bokchito, Ardmore and Blue.

The storms were the result of a cold front that entered the state on Wednesday and is pushing southward. The storms were accompanied by heavy rain, hail, strong winds and frequent lightning.
