Tulsa, OK – Pilot in plane crash in critical condition

PURCELL, Okla. (AP) The pilot of a small plane that crashed in Cleveland County remains hospitalized in critical condition.

The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says 39-year-old Thomas Steadham was the only person on board when the plane went down in the Canadian River just after 8:30 p.m. Thursday.

Steadham was taken to the University of Oklahoma Medical Center where a spokesman says he was in critical condition Friday with head, arm and leg and internal injuries.

The OHP says the plane clipped a power line and went into the river.

The National Transportation Safety Board is investigating.
