Oklahoma Unemployment Steady for March, 5.0 Percent

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma unemployment rate for March remained unchanged at 5.0 percent.

The Oklahoma Employment Security Commission announced Friday that the state labor force and the number of employed people fell slightly in March. But so did the number of jobless.

The changes weren't enough to bring a change to the overall unemployment rate.

The agency says the labor force lost 2,940 people and that 2,240 fewer were employed in March. Overall, the number of unemployed Oklahomans declined by 700 in March.

The national unemployment rate fell from 7.7 percent in February to 7.6 percent in March.
