OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Oklahoma state Senate President Pro Tem Brian Bingman has announced members of his staff for the coming legislative session.

Bingman said Friday that Cheryl Boothe will continue as his executive assistant and that Amy McCord will continue as administrative assistant and former Sen. Jonathan Nichols will become Bingman's chief legal counsel.

Bingman — a Republican from Sapulpa — also said that Trait Thompson will be a senior policy advisor and Nathan Atkins will serve as communications director for Bingman while Randy Dowell continues as Senate chief of staff.

Bingman also nominated Paul Ziriax to a third term as secretary of the Senate and as state Election Board secretary — pending formal election by the Senate in January.
