HOUSTON (AP) —Oilfield services company Baker Hughes Incorporated says the oil and gas rig count is on the rise across the Southwest. The Houston-based firm says Oklahoma added one rig this week, while Texas and Colorado added three apiece and New Mexico brought two rigs online. The tally was unchanged in Arkansas.
Oil futures climbed Tuesday in trading before the July 4th holiday, as unrest in the Suez Canal hosting nation of Egypt made investors bet on West Texas Intermediate going up.
