Oklahoma officials say the state collected a record $132 million in tribal gambling fees during the past year.
The Office of Management and Enterprise Services released its annual report Wednesday on gambling compliance during the fiscal year that ended on June 30. It says collections were more than $3.6 million above collections during the previous fiscal year.
OMES officials say tribes paid exclusivity fees to the state based on nearly $2.2 billion in revenue generated from Class III electronic games and non-house-banked card games. Class III games are those commonly played at casinos, such as slot machines and blackjack.
State officials say 88 percent of the revenue supports public education and 12 percent goes to the general revenue fund. Almost $116 million of the revenue supported public education last year.
