OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A deputy commissioner for the state's mental health agency has been tapped as the new executive director of the Office of Juvenile Affairs.
OJA spokeswoman Paula Christiansen says the agency's governing board voted Friday to offer the position to Steven Buck for a salary of $150,000. Buck has served since 2007 as the deputy commissioner of the Oklahoma Department of Mental Health and Substance Abuse Services.
He will replace T. Keith Wilson, who resigned as agency director effective December 31st.
Created by the Legislature in 1994, OJA oversees juvenile offenders and employs more than 700 people. It operates juvenile centers in Norman, Tecumseh and Manitou.
