OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Gasoline prices continue to fall in Oklahoma and across the nation.
AAA Oklahoma says the statewide average price for gasoline slid to $2 a gallon in Oklahoma on Monday for the first time since May 16. AAA Oklahoma spokesman Chuck Mai says prices in the Oklahoma City and Tulsa metro areas are even lower.
Oklahoma is now tied for the second lowest gas prices in the nation, behind South Carolina which has the lowest average price of $1.93 a gallon. In addition to Oklahoma, gas prices in Mississippi averaged $2 a gallon Monday. Gas costs an average of $2.01 a gallon in Missouri and $2.02 in Alabama.
Pump prices nationwide are at their lowest mark for this date since 2004. Monday's national average for regular gasoline is $2.23 per gallon.
