Oklahoma City, OK – Okla transportation inspector dies after accident

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Authorities say an Oklahoma Department of Transportation inspector has died following an accident at a highway construction site in Oklahoma City.

Officials said Wednesday that 53-year-old Terry Clubb of Harrah died Tuesday night at OU Medical Center.

Fire Battalion Chief Brian Stanaland says Clubb was standing in the median of the Interstate 40 Crosstown construction project at Interstate 35 about 11 a.m. Monday when a tractor-trailer hauling asphalt to the site overturned.

Oklahoma Highway Patrol Lt. Mark Reynolds said Clubb tried to dive under the truck bed as it came over. Reynolds says crews were able to quickly free Clubb so he could be transported to the hospital.

Clubb had worked for the state for 13 years.
