Obamanomics Debate

Friday at 8:00 pm on Public Radio 89.5 HD1 – Intelligence Squared, our Documentary of the Week, features an Oxford-style debate which examines these questions: Are Obamanomics our nation's saving grace? Or a national disgrace? Was the government bailout of banks and insurance companies a godsend for the economy or a dire misstep? Be listening this Friday evening at 8 on Public Radio 89.5 HD1.

The Oxford style debate will examine the motion: Obama's economic policies are working. Speaking for the motion:. Lawrence Mishel, of the Economic Policy Institute, financier Steve Rattner, US Treasury Dept. auto advisor, and Mark Zandi, chief economist at Moody's. Speaking against the motion, economists James Galbraith and Allan Meltzer, and Eliot Spitzer, former governor of New York (who switched sides at the last minute).
