Next Time on ATJ: Highlighting Some Outstanding Jazz Trumpet Players of Today

Tune in for the next edition of All This Jazz, beginning at 10pm on Saturday the 19th, right here on Public Radio 89.5-1. (We'll also offer, per custom, a 7pm re-airing of ATJ on Sunday the 20th on Jazz 89.5-2, which is our station's all-jazz HD Radio channel. And please note that you can learn more about our program, and can always access the latest playlist info, at this link.)

Each and every week, we spin modern jazz, both recent and classic...from Geri Allen to Joe Zawinul, Louis Armstrong to John Zorn. And the second half of our two-hour broadcast always carries a theme.

This time around, that latter-segment theme will be Great Jazz Trumpeters of Today. We'll therefore hear from established masters like Wynton Marsalis, Kenny Wheeler, and Arturo Sandoval --- and also from some younger trumpet-playing titans on the current scene, such as Jeremy Pelt (shown here).

Please join us.

Scott Gregory started working at Public Radio Tulsa in 2006; he started listening to public radio circa 1980, when he and NPR both marked their tenth birthdays (although only one of them commemorated the occasion with a party at Skate World). Scott became this radio station's Operations Director in the summer of 2023; he also hosts and programs All This Jazz, which airs every Saturday night on Public Radio 89.5-1 from 9pm till midnight.
