New Tulsa County Commissioner Sworn-in to Office

KWGS News

Tulsa County’s newest elected leader takes the oath of office today. Republican Ron Peters, who won a special election last week, is sworn-in as District 3 County Commissioner. The former state legislator says important issues ahead include inadequate juvenile justice facilities and an overcrowded jail. When in the state house, Peters was known as an advocate for juvenile justice issues, and he says doing something about the cramped, outdated facilities here is a priority.

Peters will serve the remainder of Fred Perry’s term, who stepped down early due to health problems.
