Oklahoma City, OK – Oklahoma City University names interim law dean

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Oklahoma City University officials say a law professor and associate dean is the new interim dean of the School of Law.

Eric Laity, named to the position on Monday, will begin his new role July 1 and remain until a new dean is chosen to succeed Lawrence K. Hellman. Hellman announced in December he would be returning to teaching and scholarship.

Laity earned his bachelor's degree and juris doctorate from Harvard University. He has worked at law firms in Dallas and Houston, and was a transactional lawyer with a general business practice that represented organizations in the financial and energy sectors of the international economy.

Laity joined the Oklahoma City University faculty in 1991 and became associate dean of the law school for academic affairs in 2006.
