Tulsa, OK – TULSA, Okla. (AP) A Tulsa police officer is free on $10,000 bond after being arrested on drug charges.

An arrest and booking report says 37-year-old officer Travis Ludwig was arrested at his home just after 7:45 Tuesday on a complaint of possession of a controlled drug with intent to distribute. The report says officers serving search warrants at Ludwig's home found three bags of a substance that tested positive for cocaine.

Officer Leland Ashley says Ludwig is currently an active police officer.

Ludwig could not be reached for comment and was not known if he had retained an attorney.

On September 22, 2009 at 7:57 p.m., Tulsa Police Officer Travis Ludwig was arrested on one count of possession of a controlled drug with the intent to distribute. Ludwig joined the Tulsa Police Department in June of 1995.

Internal Affairs initiated an administrative investigation on Officer Travis Ludwig. During the course of this investigation, it was determined that criminal activity had occurred, possibly involving controlled substances.

Investigators obtained search warrants for various locations in connection with the investigation. Undetermined quantities of a white powder, scales and US currency were recovered during the execution of the search warrants.

Officer Ludwig will be placed on suspension awaiting the outcome of the criminal investigation.

Due to the on-going investigations, no other details can be released at this time.
