Needs Improvements: Oklahoma Schools

Oklahoma City, OK – 42 schools on state's school improvement list

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) The state Department of Education has released a list of 42 Oklahoma schools that are on the School Improvement List for the year.

The list released Thursday is part of the system of accountability developed by the state Department of Education to comply with the federal No Child Left Behind law.

Sixteen of the schools on the list are in the Oklahoma City Public Schools district, while 11 are in the Tulsa Public Schools district. Three others are in the Union Public Schools district, located in Tulsa.

Two Tulsa schools are entering their fifth year on the list Nathan Hale High School and Will Rogers High School.

Other districts with schools on the list include Watts, Erick, Lawton, Vinita, Sapulpa, Ponca City, Marietta, Crutcho, Midwest City-Del City, Okmulgee, Muskogee and Jay.
