Muskogee, OK – Prelim hearing starts for mall shooting suspect
MUSKOGEE, Okla. (AP) A witness has testified at the preliminary hearing for the man charged in a deadly shooting outside Arrowhead Mall in Muskogee that she saw the man pull out a gun.
Cindy Johnson testified Monday she was entering the mall when she saw Dondray Fowler pulling out a gun.
The three-day hearing for the 20-year-old Fowler in Muskogee County District Court is to determine if there is enough evidence to order him to stand trial. He's charged with first-degree murder in the April 10 shooting death of 17-year-old Jerrod Reed.
Fowler has not yet entered a plea and defense attorney Wayne Woodyard has not returned phone calls seeking comment.
Prosecutors say Reed and Fowler were among separate groups walking toward each other and flashing gang signs when the shooting began.
