Museum Audit Requested

Oklahoma City, OK – Audit requested of state dollars for museum

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) State Senator Patrick Anderson is asking for an audit of state dollars used to build the American Indian Cultural Center and Museum.

Anderson's request on Friday came a day after committee approval of a bill authorizing up to $40 million in state bond money for the museum that's being built along downtown Oklahoma City's river front.

The Republican from Enid says the state has already issued $63 million in bonds for the project and if the current bill is approved it would bring the annual debt service payments for the center to $9 million a year. He says lawmakers should have a clear picture of where previous bond money has been spent.
