Mosquito Season is Here

National Geographic

Mosquito season is here. The Tulsa Health Department has traps out, and will begin testing soon for West Nile carriers. Meanwhile, there are things you can do to try and keep the little bloodsuckers away from your yard. Elizabeth Nutt is Environmental Public Health Division Chief. She says check pet water dishes, plant holders, gutters, and anything else that could have standing water and get rid of it. It only takes a few days for mosquito larvae to hatch and become a problem.

She says they will start the spraying program a little later this summer, when they have identified areas where it will be most effective.
