More Swine Flu H1N1 Cases in Tulsa

By Associated Press

Stillwater, OK – STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) An Oklahoma State University spokesman says a female OSU student has recovered after suffering from the swine flu.

That's one of three new cases reported today, bringing the state's total number of confirmed cases to 17.

OSU spokesman Gary Shutt says university graduates were told of the student's illness today during commencement exercises.

He says the student did not have to be hospitalized and was able to take her final exams last week. Shutt says no other OSU students have had to be tested for swine flu symptoms.

OSU officials received confirmation last night of the swine flu case.

Also today, the Tulsa Health Department says it has confirmed two more swine flu cases in Tulsa County, both in young children.

In both cases, the local Health Department says the children experienced flu-like symptoms, sought medical treatment and recovered without being hospitalized. The two children attend Andersen Elementary School, which is a part of the Union Public Schools.
