More Quakes Near Fairview

A magnitude 3.8 earthquake has been recorded near Fairview in northwestern Oklahoma.

The U.S. Geological Survey reports the earthquake was recorded at 12:13 p.m. Wednesday 19 miles northwest of Fairview, about 95 miles northwest of Oklahoma City.

The Oklahoma Department of Emergency Management says there have been no reports of injury or damage.

The earthquake comes more than a week after a magnitude 5.8 quake shook Pawnee and was felt in several states, including Kansas, Missouri and Arkansas. On Monday, state and federal regulators said 32 disposal wells in northeastern Oklahoma must shut down because they are located too close to a newly discovered fault line that produced the quake near Pawnee, which is the state's strongest earthquake on record.
