Discoveryland announces it will not open for the 2012 summer season.
In a statement on its website, the amphitheatre blames poor attendance last year and the hot weather for the decision.
“It is with sincere regret that we inform you that Discoveryland will not present its outdoor production of Rodgers and Hammerstein’s Oklahoma for the 2012 season. The economy and record breaking heat of last summer made it difficult to producer our production this year.”
The statement goes to say they plan to reopen the park and theater in 2013.
