File Photo

The influenza season is not letting go of Oklahoma. New figures were released this morning from the State Department of Health showing more people died in the Sooner State from the flu, just last week.

According to the numbers, four more people died last week of influenza related problems. One of the new deaths was here in Tulsa County. Seven people have died this season in Tulsa County from the flu. That is more than in any other county in the state.  Statewide, there have been 30 flu deaths since the first of October.

The number of hospitalizations was up last week as well. 41 people were sent to the hospital with the flu. So far this season, we are nearing 1,000 people hospitalized. The exact number is 987.
