Missing Cancer Patient Found Near Muskogee

Muskogee Police

The Muskogee Police Department has canceled the Silver Alert issued for Eileen Springer. Springer is suffering from Stage 4 Cancer.  She was found this morning near a rural road in an area east of the Muskogee Turnpike and north of Highway 62, near the Arkansas River. It is believed that she became disoriented the day of her disappearance and got lost, ending up off the roadway and stuck in the mud near this area.

Springer was located by a passerby this morning and a Ft. Gibson police officer who was on routine patrol in the area. The passerby, who did not have a cell phone, was assisting Springer when the officer came upon the scene. She  was taken to the  hospital in Muskogee.

The passerby told the Ft. Gibson officer that he had seen the vehicle stuck at the location around three days ago but did not realize it was occupied. He went to look inside the vehicle this morning and discovered the missing person.
