Lecture Examines Human Trafficking in Oklahoma

The Children's Society

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — The Oklahoma Department of Human Services plans to explore the threat of human trafficking and the danger it poses to runaway juveniles and other vulnerable people.

Human trafficking is the subject of a public lecture planned for Oct. 28. Michael Snowden of the Oklahoma Bureau of Narcotics and Dangerous Drugs Control will discuss the issue and common misconceptions about the crime.

The lecture is designed to promote awareness of the signs of human trafficking and help identify those who may fall victim to human traffickers.

Snowden has been an Oklahoma law enforcement officer for more than 30 years. He joined the state's narcotics enforcement agency in 1996 and serves as the agent-in-charge of the Human Trafficking Division.
