Lake Clean-Up Underway

U.S. Army Corps of Engineers

The U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is staying very busy getting Oklahoma's lake campgrounds back into shape. Last month's flooding left a huge mess at campgrounds, picnic areas and swim beaches.

Many areas are still underway while other are littered with driftwood and other debris washed up by the strong currents. The Corps has rangers out assessing the damage. It could be a while before the areas are all cleaned-up. The Tulsa District of the Corps is responsible for over 240 parks. That translates to over 6,000 individual campsites.
