Kingfisher County Named Oklahoma's Healthiest in New Report

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — A new report finds that Kingfisher County is the healthiest county in Oklahoma, while Jefferson County is considered the state's unhealthiest.

The report was released Wednesday by the Robert Wood Johnson Foundation and the University of Wisconsin Population Health Institute. It found that Kingfisher, Cleveland, Canadian, Rogers and Roger Mills counties were the state's healthiest, based on quality of life and longevity.

Jefferson, Adair, Choctaw, McIntosh and Johnston counties were named the five least healthy counties, based on the same measures.

The study also ranked each county on "health factors" that include tobacco use, diet and exercise and access to medical care, among other factors. Canadian County was ranked highest based on those measures, while Adair County was ranked lowest.

Tulsa County is ranked # 20.
