Stillwater, OK – Okla. man arrested for threatening jail with plane
STILLWATER, Okla. (AP) Payne County authorities say a Stillwater man has been arrested after threatening to fly a plane into the county jail.
Fifty-two-year-old Layne Lester Kent was arrested Saturday and charged Monday with a felony count of making a terrorism hoax. He appeared in court without an attorney and a not guilty plea was entered on his behalf.
Sheriff R.B. Hauf said Monday that Kent called dispatchers several times early Saturday threatening to fly a plane into the jail. Hauf says a deputy who went to Kent's home found him drunk and arrested him.
Kent remained in the jail pending a bond hearing Tuesday afternoon.
