Tulsa, OK – As part of the scheduled plans for the bridge replacements at the I-44/161st E. Ave. junction, the left lane of east and westbound I-44 will be closed at the 161st E. Ave. junction from midnight Saturday to 10 a.m. Sunday. Additionally, all lanes of 165th E. Ave. underneath I-44 will be closed as part of this project.
This planned closure is directly related to preparatory work for construction of the new portion of a bridge at this location, and is not for emergency repairs to the existing bridges. Message boards are in place to alert drivers to this closure. Drivers can expect delays in this area, and are urged to find an alternate route, or to plan extra travel time.
