Hobby Lobby Building Warehouse in Oklahoma City

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) — Hobby Lobby is building a new warehouse in Oklahoma City to help address expected company growth over the next few years.

The Oklahoman reports  the $88 million new distribution center is estimated to be around 1.9 million square feet. The craft retailer says it will take 18 months to finish the building's construction.

Hobby Lobby says it needs the new warehouse, because it's growing. It says it's on track to open 70 new stores this year and another 70 next year.

Hobby Lobby already has about 4.1 million square feet of space in Oklahoma City at its manufacturing, distribution and administrative headquarters.
