Oklahoma City, OK – Henry vetoes bill on workers' comp fraud

OKLAHOMA CITY (AP) Gov. Brad Henry has vetoed two bills, including one calling for additional penalties for those who commit workers' compensation fraud.

Henry signed 16 other bills into law late Tuesday.

House Bill 2894 would have required employees convicted of workers' comp fraud to pay the employer for any resulting increase in premiums. In his veto message, Henry said the bill was vaguely written and that determining the monetary penalty would be "virtually impossible."

Henry says the other bill HB 2733, dealing with child custody was well intended but "poorly constructed" and could lead to confusion in such cases.

Among the bills Henry signed was a measure to let state prosecutors who complete a firearms course to
