Noble, OK – Okla. troopers say rifle pointed at helicopter

NOBLE, Okla. (AP) The Oklahoma Highway Patrol says someone pointed a rifle at an Oklahoma National Guard helicopter that was helping battle a fire in Cleveland County.

Trooper Betsy Randolph said the incident occurred about 4:40 p.m. Thursday in Noble. Randolph says a Blackhawk helicopter equipped with a bucket was picking up water at a pond near 48th Street and Etowah Road when the pilot noticed a man on an all-terrain vehicle pointing a rifle at the aircraft.

She says the pilot dumped the bucket and left the scene. Troopers returned to the location to investigate but the man was already gone.

Randolph says no injuries were reported.

The man was described as a white male in his 30s.

Randolph says information troopers gathered has been forwarded to the FBI.
